Daniel Katz
Principal
Daniel Katz founded Katz Properties in Boston in 2003 and has since relocated its headquarters to New York City. He has opened satellite offices in Philadelphia and Boston.
Mr. Katz is active in many aspects of the real estate industry including property acquisition, asset management, leasing, land development, and equity syndication. Prior to founding Katz Properties, Daniel was part of a team at RHS Realty Associates that leased and managed 255,000 square feet of space in two office buildings in midtown Manhattan. He was personally responsible for fielding prospective tenants, negotiating lease terms and overseeing the tenant fit-out process. In addition, while at RHS, Mr. Katz independently syndicated and managed the acquisition, value addition and disposition of several multi-family residential properties with RHS senior management’s participation as lead investors.
Mr. Katz holds a B.S. in Entrepreneurial Studies and Finance from the University of Hartford. While studying at Hartford, Mr. Katz worked on the conversion of an office building to rental apartments at College Street LLC, a prominent company in New Haven, Connecticut. He is a licensed real estate broker in several states, an active member of ICSC, and serves on the ICSC New York Next Generation board.
Daniel Kaufthal
Principal
Prior to joining Katz Properties in 2008, Mr. Kaufthal was Vice President of Celestial Capital Group based in New York City. At Celestial, Daniel focused primarily on acquisitions of value-add office and retail properties in the New York and Connecticut metropolitan area. He was involved in the management of Celestial’s existing portfolio of office and retail space as well as in the design development and construction planning of an approximately 20,000 sf, $6,000,000 mixed use project in Yorktown Heights, NY.
Daniel has been an advisor to Katz Properties since its inception in 2003, an active partner in several of its projects and an investor in, and manager of, a variety of other privately held real estate assets around the country. Most recently, he has managed the acquisition of Tops Canandaigua Plaza, a 58,000 square foot single tenant grocery in Canandaigua, New York, Burwood Village Center, a 105,000 square foot, grocery anchored, shopping center in Glen Burnie, MD and Stop & Shop Plaza, a 122,000 square foot, grocery anchored, shopping center in Enfield, CT on behalf of Katz Properties.
Mr. Kaufthal began his career in the real estate industry at Roseland Property Company of Short Hills, New Jersey where he trained for several years in a comprehensive development management program that included positions in finance, construction budget estimating and on-site construction management. Ultimately, as an Assistant Development Manager he was part of a team that was responsible for the oversight of all aspects of a $1.7 Billion, 200+ acre master-planned luxury residential (6,500 units) and mixed use (2,000,000 SF office/retail/hotel) development including entitlements, market analysis, design development, legal and financial planning, construction scheduling, residential marketing and sales and retail lease-up.
Daniel holds a B.S. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and is an active member of ICSC and ULI.
Eric Wolf
Managing Director- Philadelphia Office
Born and raised in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, Eric began his career in 2002 with Metro Commercial Real Estate. In 2005, he joined Marcus and Millichap's National Retail Group where he remained until 2007 when he moved on to become a Managing Director at Katz Properties.
Eric joined Katz Properties bringing a strong background in retail leasing for both tenants and landlords throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. Eric has exclusively leased over 1 million square feet of real estate throughout the region as well as negotiated numerous large sales transactions throughout his career. He is a licensed real estate broker in Pennsylvania, an active member of ICSC.
Philip Katz
Managing Director, Leasing and Asset Management
Mr. Katz joined Katz Properties in January 2007. Philip is currently involved in brokerage, leasing and acquisitions at Katz Properties. Since joining Katz Properties, Philip has assisted in the disposition of Dudley Plaza, a 100,000 square foot shopping center, the acquisition of Gothic Park, an medical/office complex located in Hartford, CT and several other transactions.
On the leasing side, Mr. Katz is responsible for bringing La Camiceria Italiana, a high-end Italian men’s clothing store, to New York City in helping them open their Flagship store located at 509 Madison Avenue.
Prior to joining Katz Properties, Philip was an Associate at Winoker Realty, Co. from 2004- 2007. At Winoker, he specialized in representing both Tenants and Landlords in midtown Manhattan. He represented tenants from a range of industries, including law firms, advertising agencies, private equity firms, software companies, production companies, and design and engineering firms.
